I have an older copy of this book as well. It is excellent reading for anyone looking for insight into the life and struggles of committed discipleship to a spiritual path. Topics are very current for today's spiritual seeker. Speaker was the president of a multinational spiritual organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda.
This is a book that will open your heart, mind and spirit and I believe it will your change your life...for the better. The author, Daya Mata gives the reader a glimpse of the divine nature of man and the entire cosmos,with humility and realization. She is truly a Mother of compassion; as Her name implies. I am blessed to have found this book and to have read it. I truly treasure it. Daya Mata gives specific and easy to understand answers to very difficult situations.She knew it was LOVE of something greater than oneself that was the way to happiness, security, and peace. This is an incredible book; intense with wisdom; with practical applications in daily life. I have read many books on spirituality and I believe this one is written by a true saint. Deep devotion and such wisdom along with true humility are rarely found in this world.
If you have never read a book about spirituality it might be helpful if you begin with, Eckhart Tolle's. 'The Power of Now.' It will give you good foundation to build on.
This is one of the books that I truly treasure. Daya Mata gives specific and easy to understand answers to very difficult situations. I've read it maybe 5 times and pieces of it over and over. It is tabbed from here to eternity!
One day I was so frustrated that I was embroiled in a heated battle with someone I had to see every week at our meeting. He knew just how to push my buttons. This type of situation was not new. I believed in fighting for what I thought was right. Try as I could, I couldn't resist a return barb. Disgusted with myself, I demanded of the Universe/aka/God that I be shown a way to overcome this and I needed it right NOW. From a big pile of books I picke up a book, Only Love. I flipped it open ... page 59...and laughingly groaned. "What You Can Learn from Others" was the chapter title. I applied it to my life and have not attracted the same situation or similar situation since I first read it over 2 years ago. I now buy it for others.
